Volunteer Service

Are you affected by cancer? Would you like some practical help around the home, getting to appointments, information on the benefits available to you, or someone to talk to? This service could meet your needs.

Macmillan Cancer Support

This fantastic and innovative service is now being delivered across Kent to meet some of the unmet needs of Carers of people with long term health conditions, and people living with cancer.

Crossroads Care Kent, in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support are looking for committed individuals who would like to have a positive effect on the life of someone living with cancer or who may have a long term health condition.

Tasks could include: light gardening, light housework, prescription collection, social outings, shopping, escorting to appointments and form filling. We are also looking for people who could offer emotional support be being a ‘listening ear’ as well as offering encouragement and companionship.

In return, volunteers can expect to be trained, supported and valued. Expenses will be reimbursed as set out in the volunteering policy.

Volunteering can be wonderful and fulfilling and is a very positive addition to your CV as it can demonstrate your commitment to a work ethic. Certificates from training courses will also add value to Your CV.
